"Imli, The Archer": The Journey of a Tribal Girl in Archery, Releasing in Cinemas on September 12

Navi Mumbai: Filmmaker Swatantra (Savi) Goel’s new presentation “Imli, The Archer” is set to release in theatres across the country on September 12. The film tells the story of a tribal girl, Imli (Prasanna Bisht), whose journey of passion and struggle unveils her natural talent in archery – without any formal training.
In the story, a government sports officer, while passing through her village, witnesses Imli’s incredible skill and convinces her family to send her to a sports academy. There, Imli meets a selfless and hardworking coach, Mr. Ayyar (Vikram Kochar). With their combined dedication and Imli’s willpower, she rises to become a national archery champion.
Director Swatantra Goel has not only crafted the film with sensitivity but has also infused it with the spirit to inspire every youth and rural-tribal family. The message is clear – it is important to recognize the hidden talent of every daughter and to utilize government schemes like Khelo India.
It is noteworthy that Swatantra Goel, once a senior officer at the State Bank who later settled in America, returned to India in 2016. He believes that cinema is not just a medium of entertainment but the most powerful tool to awaken patriotism and inspiration. In the last eight years, he has made eight films, and now his dream is to deliver one inspiring film to audiences every year.
The film features three beautiful songs, stellar performances, and soul-stirring music. Alongside Prasanna Bisht and Vikram Kochar, Harshad Shinde, Maan Singh Meena, Ratan Lal, Jyoti, and Pragya Mishra have also delivered commendable performances. Music director Dushyant Dubey and DOP Raja Fadatre have strengthened the film on both technical and emotional fronts.
Director Goel says he has high hopes for this film – he wants “Imli, The Archer” to be more than just a story. His vision is for it to ignite a spark in every viewer’s heart to believe that dreams can indeed come true.
