	Three out of five Indians arent getting adequate nightly sleep, with a quarter reporting their sleep has worsened since the pandemic, according to a new trend report from AGR Knowledge Services. Rather than seeking medical help, most are turning to online solutions and supplements, creating a booming marketplace for sleep aids.
	 


	The report, &quot;The Modern Sleep Bazaar: How Sleep Debt Became Indias Wellness Opportunity,&quot; analyzed digital conversations, search queries and consumer sentiment to map the countrys growing sleep crisis and the commercial response.
	 


	
		
			
				
		
	



	When Rest Takes a Backseat: Indians Sleep Less Than 6 Hours​
	 


	Key findings include:


	
		
			Sleep gummies saw 650% spike in search interest over the past year
	
	
		
			Online searches for &quot;how to sleep 8 hours in 4&quot; and similar quick-fix terms are increasingly common
	
	
		
			Interest in natural ingredients like melatonin, magnesium, ashwagandha and chamomile has surged
	
	
		
			Over 30-40 brands are active in Indias sleep supplement space, but few are established players

	&quot;What were seeing is a fundamental shift from treating sleep aids as one-off solutions to integrating them into nightly rituals,&quot; said Suyog Keluskar, President of the Social Media Intelligence wing of AGR Knowledge Services. &quot;Consumers arent just buying products-theyre buying peace of mind and turning sleep into an active wellness practice.&quot;
	 


	The research reveals significant gaps in the market. While consumers are actively searching for solutions, their digital conversations show heavy emphasis on safety concerns, dependency risks and product effectiveness-indicating demand for more transparency from brands.
	 


	The trend represents a major opportunity for established health and wellness companies to enter the space with credibility, particularly as search behaviour shows consumers are looking for reassurance as much as results. This transformation reflects broader changes in how Indians approach wellness, with sleep joining fitness and nutrition as an active health pursuit rather than a passive necessity.

        <description><![CDATA[ QINGDAO, China, July 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- China Petroleum &amp; Chemical Corporation (HKG: 0386, &quot;Sinopec&quot;), joining hands with Shandong Province and Qingdao Municipality, has successfully commenced operations of China&#039;s first commercial floating offshore photovoltaic (PV) project in a full-seawater environment. Integrated with the pile-based floating PV project launched previously, it is the largest floating PV power station of Sinopec.

The Project is set to generate 16.7 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by 14,000 tons. Serving as a pioneering initiative, it aims to promote floating photovoltaic projects in coastal and shallow sea areas within full-seawater environments.
Situated in a sea-connected water area, the floating PV utilizes the seawater surface to optimize space efficiency. Covering approximately 60,000 square meters with an installed capacity of 7.5 megawatts, the station features a zero-emission, high-efficiency, low-cost design. Its innovative structure allows the photovoltaic panels to synchronize with tidal elevations, reducing the distance between the panels and the water surface to about one-tenth of traditional pile-based structures. This design optimizes seawater cooling, enhancing power generation efficiency by 5-8% through the cooling effect.
Sinopec overcame the challenges of applying PV technology in seawater environments through three key innovations:
Durable Design: Specially engineered floats and supports resistant to salt mist corrosion and barnacle growth.Robust Anchoring System: An underwater anchoring system designed to withstand wind speeds of up to level 13 and accommodate tidal variations of 3.5 meters, reducing investment costs by approximately 10% compared to traditional pile-based PV systems.Enhanced Maintenance Accessibility: A streamlined inspection pathway for PV panels and cables positioned close to the water&#039;s surface, significantly improving safety and lowering operating and maintenance costs compared to conventional systems.Sinopec has previously established the country&#039;s first &quot;carbon-neutral&quot; hydrogen refueling station and first industrial-scale seawater hydrogen production project. Now in operation, the Project serves as the most critical link in the company&#039;s new energy industry chain to form a model of producing green hydrogen with PV-generated green electricity. World Animal Protection has conducted investigations on captive tigers in Thailand, captive elephants in Thailand, India and Indonesia and captive dolphins in USA, Netherlands and Thailand. These researches show that the welfare of these captive animals is severely compromised in these wildlife entertainment venues, and especially so in situations where they are compelled to come into proximity with humans. Close contact between wild animals and humans can cause undue stress to animals and additionally risk injury and spread of diseases(zoonoses) between humans and animals. 	A Glimpse of our efforts towards cow care and protection and raising awareness through Gau Rashtra Yatra 2025 


	 


	The 61-day incredible journey of 10,000 Km to revive Gau-aadharit Bharat began on 15 June, 2025 after taking blessings from saints and spiritual gurus. This Yatra extends from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, to Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. It will cover 12 states and will pass through known states such as Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and more.


	 


	The Gau Rashtra Yatra 2025 is led by Bharat Singh Rajpurohit (Trustee and Director at RGSS- Indigenous Cattle Development), Narendra Kumar (Founder and National Convener of RGSS and Hindrise), Rohit Bisht (Founder of Mati India and Trustee &amp; Director of Digital Transformation at RGSS), Venugopal Naidu Puvvada (National Coordinator- Tech and Innovation at RGSS) and Harshad Gugaliya (Founder of Kamdhenu Gauveda).

		This year&#039;s highly-anticipated Christmas Town is 30 percent bigger than last year&#039;s, giving visitors a host of fantastic photo opportunities. Busy gnomes have filled Christmas Town with nearly 100 decorated gift boxes of different shapes and sizes in vibrant colours. With delightful gift boxes on every corner, locals and tourists will find themselves walking through an enchanting winter wonderland whichever way they turn.

	
		 

	
		Towering 20 metres above Christmas Town and as high as a six-storey building, the giant Christmas tree is decorated with colourful ornaments and topped with a sparkling octagonal star. For the first time, the tree will feature light projections of seasonal scenes dancing across its branches, including Christmas candies, snowmen, and snow.

	
		 

	
		Colourfully decorated photo spots are scattered across Christmas Town and, for the first time, there is a Festive Light Tunnel for visitors to walk through. As they step in, they will find themselves immersed in a magical scene of busy gnomes hard at work preparing gifts for Christmas in a quaint, snowy village filled with smoke. Inside Christmas Town, visitors will also find traces of the Christmas gnomes and their good friends, Hong Kong&#039;s iconic pandas. Santa Claus himself will make surprise appearances for meets-and-greets in a cosy Christmas hut. The HKTB has also arranged handbell and choir performances to help visitors get into the Christmas party spirit.
		 

	
		After the premiere of the spectacular Winter Harbourfront Pyrotechnic Display, which dazzled crowds with its bursts of festive pyrotechnics, the display will return for three consecutive nights at 8:00 pm on 24, 2,5 and 26 December, bringing explosions of holiday joy to the skies of Hong Kong and preparing the city for the hugely popular New Year Countdown Fireworks Display.

	The government has announced an extension of the visa exemption for Indian nationals until December 31, 2026.


	 


	In a statement on Friday (Dec 20), Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Awang Alik Jeman said this was in line with Malaysias 2025 Asean chairmanship and preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.


	 


	He added that the government had extended a similar visa exemption to Chinese nationals until the same date.


	 


	Awang Alik said the governments visa liberalisation plan, which has been in place since December 1, 2023, aims to boost the countrys economic and tourism sectors while maintaining national security.


	 


	As part of this plan, a 30-day visa exemption is granted to nationals of the Peoples Republic of China and India.


	 


	&quot;This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance Malaysias appeal as a travel destination while ensuring the safety and security of the nation,&quot; he said.

	Malabar Gold &amp; Diamonds, one of the largest gold and diamond retail chains of the country, has welcomed the decision of the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs to not to allow sale of hallmarked gold jewellery and artefacts without HUID (hallmark unique identification) number from April 1, 2023. In line with the decision of the government, Malabar Gold &amp; Diamonds has also ensured that only the ornaments with the HUID code are sold in all its showrooms across the country from April 1, 2023. This was proposed by the central government back in June 2021 giving the jewellers ample time to adopt HUID.


	 


	HUID which is stamped on each piece of jewellery at the authorized Assaying and Hallmarking centres to testify the purity aims to protect the customer interest and strengthen the purity standardization framework of the jewellery retail trade.


	 


	Under the HUID norm, each jewellery will have three features embossed on it - BIS logo, gold karat level to denote purity and a six-digit alphanumeric HUID code containing numbers and letters. Customers instantly check the purity of gold jewellery by entering the HUID number on the BIS Care mobile. They can also avail of details such as the hallmarking date, name of the hallmarking centre and the information on the jeweller through the BIS Care app. HUID will further strengthen the track and traceability of jewellery, thus ensuring complete transparency in the value chain.


	 


	Commenting on decision of the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Mr. M P Ahammed, Chairman, Malabar Group said, &quot;We welcome the decision of the government. Its a game changing moment and will transform the way gold jewellery is sold in the markets. By standardizing the quality and transparency, HUID will not only strengthen customer trust in the jewellery retail trade but also safeguard customer interest. The HUID will bring in more transparency to the gold jewellery trade as it provides the details of the retailer selling a particular jewellery and the hallmarking centre that has checked and confirmed the purity level of the gold used in the jewellery. This will prevent the illegal gold trade to a great extent, which in turn will boost the revenue collection for the government. Currently, the HUID and the billing are not linked. If capturing the HUID code in the bills is made mandatory, it will plug the loopholes further to eliminate tax evasion. The government should initiate steps to link billing with the HUID system.&quot;
